Opening of Ketna Patel’s “Rojak Asia”, A Pop Art Exhibition
‘ASIA POP!’ by Ketna Patel is a collection of Asian Street narratives with an unmistakable look; a boisterous yet harmonious visual cacophony that is plural and laden with many meanings. They take you on journeys that are textured and potent, yet calming in their familiarity. This collection is now displayed at KL Lifestyle Art Space’s gallery on Jalan Maarof, Bangsar. The exhibition, entitled “Rojak Asia”, was launched on May 23, 2012 and it was officiated by former Malaysian AIDS Council president and Malaysian AIDS Foundation chairman of the board Yg Bhg. Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir. 10 % of all the proceeds from the sales of the artworks from Ketna Patel’s ‘Rojak Asia’ exhibition will be donated to PT Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides HIV/AIDS education, prevention, care and support programmes, sexuality awareness and empowerment programmes for vulnerable communities in Malaysia.
